The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre project involved constructing an advanced healthcare and research facility in Liverpool. The concrete structures package utilised precast concrete components as part of a Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) strategy. This approach facilitated off-site pre-commissioning, enhancing quality and efficiency while reducing site deliveries and workforce size. The use of precast concrete structural components contributed significantly to lowering embodied and operational carbon, achieving a 50% improvement over Department of Health carbon targets. This method ensured the project's sustainability goals, including reduced energy use and running costs, supporting the centre's net zero carbon ambitions.
