Cadence is a mixed-use urban block at the northern tip of the King’s Cross redevelopment, formed of 15 and 11-storey residential towers above a six-sided retail podium within the King’s Cross Central Masterplan. The development delivers 163 homes, including a mix of private and affordable apartments, along with shell and core retail units at ground level.
“I will remember S5 Cadence for a few reasons. The first will be for the magnificent brick arches that we delivered as part of the splendid facade, and the second will be the speed of construction of the structural frame and the install of the facade and M&E modules that followed 2 floors behind the leading floor. This strategy required a methodology in which there was limited falsework leaving the floors open for following trades, to enable this we used a structural support system called Delta beam. We delivered this building through the Covid-19 pandemic and despite the challenges it brought we only closed the project for 1 day, which the whole team and I were incredible proud of. ”
